The series premiered, and production picked up quickly, leading Season 4-11 to announce a week of premieres: Feb. After that, 2 more promos came out (all 3 promos have since been deleted). A few days later, the first promo for the pilot, "Plankton Wins", came out, announcing an official release date: January 19th, 2017. It also announced a release date for later that month. This video clarified that the series was going to be original episodes and plots, rather than remakes of original episodes. There would later be an update video on January 8th: "LEGO SPONGEBOB UPDATE".
Lego SpongeBob was officially announced on November 23rd, 2016 with a video titled "You choose" on the main Season 4-11 channel.
